Business Profile

About Us... Midlands Legal Services Ltd
Midlands Legal Services Ltd is a specialist will writing company, with many years experience in the field of wills, estate planning and power of attorney. We make it easy for you to make your will because we visit you in the comfort and privacy of your own home, and take your will instructions at a time to suit you. We then prepare the documents for you and, if required, return to oversee their signing and witnessing, ensuring that everything is done correctly.

We never tell people what they should do, nor do we wish to act as professional trustees or executors, as this can be very expensive for the client. We simply offer free, impartial, professional advice as to the services which may benefit each individual, helping them to ensure the maximum passes to the right people when the time comes.

As members of The Society Of Will Writers, Midlands Legal Services Ltd abides by the Society's strict Code of Ethics. When you entrust us with your instructions you can be assured of the highest professional standards. Consultants are well trained to take your will instructions, and are able to offer friendly, professional advice to ensure your wishes are carried out as you want them.

More Information. What kind of will is right for me?
One thing is certain, in the field of wills, trusts and probate, one size does not fit all! A simple, basic will enables you to state where you want your estate to pass, who you wish to act as executors and a few basic funeral instructions. However, depending on your circumstances, this may not provide the protection you or your loved ones may need when the time comes. The RIGHT will can help ensure that the MAXIMUM passes to those you love, and the absolute MINIMUM going to others.

Helping Protect The Family Home
For many of our clients, the family home is by far their biggest asset. It is the one thing above all others they have worked for, and they want to ensure that it is protected for their loved ones for years to come. However remarriage - or long term residential care - are very real dangers.
It has been estimated that up to 70,000 family homes are sold every year to pay for long term care; that's over 190 every day! And with the cost of care running at anything from £400 to £800 per week, the family home could be sold to pay for that care, decimating the inheritance that many people may have wished to have left to their loved ones.

Secure Storage for your will
Your will is almost certainly the most important legal and financial document you will ever sign. However it is suggested that one in two of all wills stored in family homes are NOT found when the time comes. Comedian Sir Harry Secombe's estate took three years to wind up simply because his will (which he had told his family was stored safely) could not be found when he passed away.

Lasting power of attorney
A will is all about one thing: death. But what happens if we need someone to manage our affairs for us while we are alive? Some people believe that a will can be used if a loved one loses capacity (i.e. has a stroke or an accident), however this is NOT the case.
A spouse/family member has no automatic legal right to sign anything for you - and banks will probably refuse to release savings, making life very difficult for those left trying to manage your affairs on your behalf.

Lasting power of attorney is an incredibly powerful legal document, which allows you to appoint the RIGHT people to act for you, if ever you need them to do so.
